MIDImorphosis uses a Fast Fourier Transform to analyze all the frequencies of an incoming audio signal. A guitar string vibrates at a base frequency (for example, 110hz for an A), as well as multiples of that base frequency (220hz, 330hz, 440hz, and so on). By using all of the frequency information, the app can detect pitch quickly and accurately.
The app displays all of the frequencies in a novel spiral format.
